It is known that in early ages the participation of children and adolescents in sports have increased. However in western countries, the application to emergency units in hospitals have also increased for 19 and under 19 aged children. It is known that the economic loss have increased due to higher treatment costs and being off-game for a long time during treatment. The risk factors of sports injuries in adolescents are categorized in two titles as intrinsic and extrinsic. The basic principles in preventing adolescent athlete injuries are as follows: choosing the suitable sports for children, doing regular health examinations, doing stretching exercises, returning back to sports in proper time after injury treatment and rehabilitation, the reorganization of sport rules and fields according to adolescents, using protective sport equipments, teaching health rules to adolescent athlete and improving the athlete's condition. It has also been shown that the injuries decrease significantly when the preventive strategies for active and passive injuries are used according to protocols.
