Abstract

The authors describe Diplectanocotyla megalopsis n. sp., a gill parasite of Megalops cyprinoides (Broussonnet, 1782) (Megalopidae) in the fresh-water of Madagascar. They state out the diagnosis of the genus Diplectanocotyla Yamaguti, 1953, and propose the new family Diplectanocotylidae nov. fam.
