Abstract

Systematic distribution and taxonomic notes of 1 700 Polychaetous Annelids from sandy beaches from the gulf of Aqaba (Red Sea) are given. 57 species are listed : among them, two are new for science and many others are first records for this area. Some ecological and biological suggestions on the problem of speciation are also given.
