Abstract

In the framework of a research project on the profiles of professional training in Business Administration in Colombia, the following article presents the results obtained in a documentary research that analyzes the tendencies in postgraduate programs in administration in five Countries Of the American continent including Colombia. The data were obtained from public institutional documents registered in the official websites of the selected faculties. The article concludes that the postgraduate programs in business administration of seven universities in Colombia are excessively traditional, compared to other prestigious universities in the Americas. In addition, they privilege excessively to the specialization like option of postgraduate formation. Both circumstances are considered very problematic for the economic competitiveness of the country.
