We utilize mesospheric O2 airglow emission intensity and temperature data collected during January-February 2003 on 17 consecutive nights from Maui, Hawaii (20.8°N, 156.2°W) to study the dominant and long period wave features at mesospheric altitudes. Apart from large day-to-day variability, it is found that nocturnal data for the period under consideration was dominated by a terdiurnal tide-like wave. Together, a quasi 5-day wave is also noticed with significant amplitude. © Indian Academy of Sciences.
