A facile synthesis of trans-alkenes in micellar media

Abstract

In this paper, trans-alkenes were selectively synthesized in micellar media in high yields under very mild and effective reaction conditions. The cationic as well as the crown ether micellar systems have similar catalytic effect on the olefination, and the catalytic systems formed by the cationic and crown ether surfactants are far-forth superior to the anionic micellar system. ©ARKAT.
