Narcisismo contemporâneo: uma abordagem laschiana

Abstract

Este artigo visa a retomar algumas das principais teses do historiador Christopher Lasch acerca da subjetividade contemporânea. Utilizando o conceito psicanalítico de narcisismo para produzir um diagnóstico de nossos tempos, Lasch propõe uma interessante relação entre indivíduo e sociedade - questão inerente a todo pensamento sociológico. Pretendemos sustentar a importância da noção laschiana de uma ética da sobrevivência narcísica para a análise do mundo globalizado, onde a escassez de ideais comuns e o conseqüente recuo da política parecem apontar para a intensificação do investimento no bem-estar individual como a única alternativa válida.Cet article vise à reprendre quelques unes des théses principales du historien Christopher Lasch à propos de la subjectivité contemporaine. En s'utilisant du concept psychanalytique de narcissisme pour produire un diagnostic de nos jours, Lash propose un rapport intéressant entre individu et société question immanente à toute pensée sociologique. Nous prétendons soutenir l'importance de la notion laschienne d'une éthique de survivance narcissique pour l'analyse du monde globalisé, ou la rareté des idéaux communs et le conséquent recul de la politique semblent aller vers I'intensification de I'investissement du bien-être individuel comme la seule alternative valide.The article resumes some of the main theses on contemporary subjectivity, conceived by the historian Christopher Lasch. Departing from the psychoanalytical concept of narcissism in order to make up a diagnosis of our time, Lasch proposes an interesting relation between the individual and the society - an issue concerning every sociological thought. We intend to support the importance of the Laschian idea of a narcissistic survival ethics in the analysis of a globalized world, where the scarcity of collective ideais and the consequent reversal of policies seem to be pointing at an intensification of investments in the individualist welfare as the sole alternative.
