Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain experimental results of tensile bolt joint using Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) and to estimate its strength performance. At first, we compared experimental results and estimated results of the compressive stiffness with CLT. Combining estimated results of the stiffness of parallel compression and of stiffness of orthogonal compression, we calculated its value. Secondly, we conducted cyclic loading test on tensile bolt joint with CLT. Finally, we compared experimental results with CLT and calculated results, proposing design method to estimate strength properties. As a result, maximum tensile strength, fracture mode, yield strength and stiffness, those estimations were close accord. However estimated values of stiffness were higher than experimental result, and there remains issue.
