Madagascar, une île au carrefour d’influences

Abstract

Dès le début du xxe siècle, l’origine des populations qui composent le peuplement malgache est au cœur de différentes disciplines. Les études génétiques récentes ont conforté l’hypothèse de vagues de migration depuis l’Asie du Sud-Est, la côte est-africaine et la péninsule Arabique vers Madagascar. L’apport bantu et austronésien au peuplement de Madagascar démontré, la question s’est posée de savoir si la Grande Île s’inscrivait dans un continuum culturel avec l’Asie du Sud-Est ou avec la côte orientale de l’Afrique. C’est par le biais des céramiques communes issues de sites malgaches, comoriens et est-africains que j’ai choisi d’apporter des réponses.From the beginning of the 20th century, the origin of the populations who make up the Malagasy populating was hotly debated by different disciplines. The recent genetic studies concluded different waves of migration from South-East Asia, East African coast and Arabian peninsula to Madagascar.The Bantu and Austronesian contribution in the populating of Madagascar demonstrated, the question has been raised to know if Madagascar was in a cultural continuum with the South-East Asia of the East African coast. By means of ceramic productions from Malagasy, Comorian and East African sites, I chose to answer.
