Abstract

This study aims to increase the literacy interest of students through the calistung private tutoring program and the literacy tree at SDIT Darul Falah. This research was conducted from February to July 2022. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive method by emphasizing the facts in the field and providing a clear description. Data collection techniques from observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was collected during and after data collection, which included data reduction and presentation. The results of the study indicate that the development of literacy skills in students requires appropriate learning strategies so that children are more interested and trained to develop reading, writing, and counting abilities and skills, as well as being able to understand the information in the school environment. With this private calistung tutoring program and literacy tree, students can gain good literacy skills to support teaching and learning activities. Learning media is also one of the essential things used by teachers in improving literacy in schools. It can be used to support implementing the calistung program and literacy tree.
