Abstract

An account is given of the main pathological changes occurring in malaria. Many of the pathophysiological processes occurring in acute malaria are primarily 'inflammatory' in nature, at first reversible but later irreversible, leading to tissue death. Many aspects of malaria pathology still need further investigation.
