Kritik Sosial pada Puisi "Aku Tulis Pamplet Ini" Karya W.S. Rendra dan Puisi “Peringatan” Karya Wiji Thukul (Pendekatan Sastra Bandingan)

Abstract

A poet can use his work as a medium for social criticism. Where social criticism occurs in real life due to conditions of disharmony that occur in society. This research discusses social criticism in the poem “Aku Tulis Pamplet Ini” by W.S. Rendra and the poem “Peringatan” by Wiji Thukul, a study of comparative literary approaches. This research is a qualitative research. The poetic text is analyzed through reading Wilhelm Dilthey's hermeneutics and Lucien Goldman's theory of genetic structuralism. This research attempts to reveal the form of social criticism through Lucien Goldman's genetic structuralism theory of the meaning of hermeneutics, so that similarities and differences in the form of social criticism are found in the two poems. Research shows that these two poems have similarities in expressing social criticism regarding social facts that occurred in society during the New Order era, namely the silencing of people's voices in criticizing the government and the arbitrariness of the Indonesian government during the New Order era. As for the differences, the poem “Aku Tulis Pamplet Ini" speaks of social criticism regarding people's suffering, the uncertainty of government promises, and the silencing of people's voices. Meanwhile, the poem "Peringatan" is propaganda for resistance and a warning against the Indonesian government during the New Order era for silencing the people's voices in criticizing the government
