Bringing together clinicians and vision researchers from around the world, the Biennial Meeting of the International Society for Eye Research focuses on stimulating and promoting international research cooperation. This is a broad, interdisciplinary event, and in 2010 it was held in Canada for the first time. The meeting was composed of scientific symposia in 12 different subspecialties, in addition to plenary lectures, poster sessions, and young investigator sessions.
