Abstract

Phytochemical studies of aerial parts of Clusia paralicola (Aubl.) Choisy and Vismia guianensis resulted in the isolation of vismiaquinone A, 151-ethoxy (151R)-porphyrinolactone, β-sitosterol, stigmasterol, bis-(2-methyl-heptyl)-phthalate and vitexin. The total phenolic content and antioxidant activity (DPPH•, ABTS•+ and β-carotene oxidation inhibition) of extracts and fractions of C. paralicola and V. guianensis were evaluated.
