Abstract

In recent years given the development and availability of modern imaging techniques the number of patients with incidentally discovered meningiomas has increased. Most of these lesions remain stable over time or grow slowly. Therefore, they can be conservatively managed with close follow-up. In cases with documented growth potential, onset of symptoms or suspected malignancy, surgical treatment is recommended. In this paper, four cases of incidental meningiomas are presented and a non-systematic review of the literature is performed regarding the natural history of these lesions and with the goal of determing which ones require treatment according to its clinical and imagenological features.
