Lymphocytes capable of making monoclonal autoantibodies that react with multiple organs are a common feature of the normal B cell repertoire.

Abstract

The present study was initiated to see whether lymphocytes from apparently normal mice, with no detectable autoantibodies in their sera, were capable of producing monoclonal autoantibodies when fused with myeloma cells, and whether these antibodies were of the multiple organ reactive (MOR) type.
