Abstract

Graphene has inspired the world since its discovery in 2004. There have been thousands of papers, patents of graphene-based nanomaterial and it has been exploited in variety of applications. Graphene is two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterial with extended network of benzene rings, it is stronger than stainless steel and has high conductivity. The thermal transport of graphene is flourishing area of research, especially for the use in thermal management applications. Graphene oxide is the functionalized form of graphene with most of the graphene features intact. In this research we synthesized the Graphene oxide using improved Hummer's method and furthermore it was characterized by various analytical techniques. Here we described the synthesis of graphene oxide, characterization and have highlighted its possible application in aerospace technology.
