Abstract
Objective: To verify the effect of caffeine on time limit (Tlim) in treadmill test. Methods: Eight male subjects between 18 and 30 years old were evaluated for three interventions: caffeine, placebo and control. Tlim was considered the maximum effort time in the velocity corresponding to the anaerobic threshold determined in treadmill. Results: Tlim was significantly higher during the protocol with caffeine supplementation compared to placebo and control protocols. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the use of caffeine had a positive effect on the aerobic performance in the Tlim variable.
