Most of the time, approached in a public place-a sign of the democratization of fashion-the young models we interviewed tended to foreground this casual encounter to explain their choice. We have tried to understand how and why a subject-man or woman-could be led to trade her/his image to become the object of the gaze of the other. The choice questions the relation which the subject entertains with her/his body-representations, identity, gender, jouissance-and ultimately a possible imaginary feminisation, whether denied or accepted.
