Abstract

An account of the natural history of nymphs, subimagos and imagos is followed by artificial keys to the nymphs and male imagos of all species recorded from Britain during the last 60 yr. A diagrammatic key provides a starter guide to genera, and diagrammatic and verbal description allows specific recognition. A final section reviews techniques and approaches to original work, and a checklist of British species. Comments on distribution and swarming behaviour are provided as appendices. There are a number of plates, most in colour. -P.J.Jarvis
