Is Cortinarius austrovenetus a synonym of C. walkerae?

Abstract

Cortinarius austrovenetus is compared with C. walkerae ('walkeri'). Data are offered to support a proposal of synonymy. The taxon is re-described in detail having been collected several times in Tasmania, and its taxonomic position is discussed.
