Confusion

Abstract

Acute confusion, cerebral dysfunction due to transient alterations in brain physiology, has the potential to become a greater clinical problem in acute, long-term, and home care because of the increase of elderly persons in this country. To improve the quality of care to this population and to prevent irreversible complications, prevention and early detection of this condition should become the focus of nursing interventions and research.
