COGAN-syndrom

Abstract

COGAN'S syndrome is a very rare autoimmune mediated disease. It presents with symptoms of interstitial keratitis and audiovestibular disturbance. The disease is complicated by systemic vasculitis and several cardiovascular manifestations including rapidly progressive aortic regurgitation. Early diagnosis is very important to prevent the risk of deafness. High dose corticosteroids seem to be the best therapeutic strategy. Additional immunosuppressive therapy may be required in case of systemic vasculitis and treatment failure. We report a case of relapsing sudden loss of hearing and interstitial keratitis in a 25-year-old woman.
