Abstract

Objetivo: analizar los factores de riesgo de la hipertensión arterial en el adulto mayor. Método: Revisión sistemática de 15 artículos científicos. Resultados y conclusión: la hipertensión arterial en el adulto mayor constituye una condición multifactorial influenciada por diversos determinantes interrelacionados. Si bien algunos factores como la edad, el sexo y la predisposición genética no son modificables, existe un amplio espectro de factores susceptibles de intervención que representan oportunidades significativas para la prevención y control de la HTA en esta población.Objective: to analyse the risk factors for high blood pressure in the elderly. Method: Systematic review of 15 scientific articles. Results and conclusion: hypertension in the elderly is a multifactorial condition influenced by various interrelated determinants. Although some factors such as age, sex and genetic predisposition cannot be modified, there is a wide range of factors that can be acted upon and which represent significant opportunities for the prevention and control of hypertension in this population.
