Objective: Determine gastrointestinal helminthes parasitism in mountain zebras permanently living in captivity in a small area of MuyamboPark/ Lubumbashi, DRC. Methodology and results: It was a descriptive cross-sectional study based on fecal matter analysis of 15 mountain’s zebras (Equus quagga boehmi) of Muyambo Park / Lubumbashi, DRC. Enrichment technique by sedimentation of Brumpt and that of the flotation of Willis were utilized. The results obtained revealed a parasitism helminthic of their digestive tract. Among the parasites encountered, those identified were 6 nematodes and 1 cestode. They have been stored by order of prevalence: Oxyuris spp (24,4%), Trichostrongylus spp and Strongylus spp (20%), Trichonema spp (12,2%), Triodontopharus spp (11,1%), Taenia spp (7,7%) and Oesophagostomum spp (4,4%). The average calculated eggs were 144/g of fecal for an approximate number of 893 adults worms. Conclusion and application of results: These results have showed a high degree of parasitism helmintic among these zebras resident of Muyambo Park. We suggest seasonal rotation of pastures to break the biological cycles of helminths.
