Abstract

High-gain observers have proved to be an effective tool in the estimation and control of nonlinear systems. This special issue introduces the basic ideas of high-gain observers through a tutorial paper, presents new theoretical advances in multi-output and hybrid systems, and demonstrates applications in electronic, mechanical, and chemical systems.
