Karakteristik Pasien Epilepsi di RSUD Dr. M. Haulussy Ambon Tahun 2021

Abstract

Epilepsy is a disease that occurs characterized by at least two unprovoked seizures or two reflex reflexes with a time interval between the first and second seizures of 24 hours. Epilepsy pathophysiology briefly results from an imbalance between excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters. The purpose of this study was to describe the characteristics of epilepsy patients at RSUD Dr. M. Haulussy Ambon in 2021 based on gender, age, type of seizure, etiology and type of OAE therapy. This research was conducted at RSUD Dr. M. Haulussy Ambon using medical record data of patients with epilepsy. This research is a descriptive research method. In this study, the number of patients with epilepsy based on medical record data was 52 people. There were 33 cases of epilepsy in men (63%) and 19 people (37%) who were female. The number of cases was more in late teens 17-25 years and late adults 36-45 years, each of which was 11 people (21%), dominated by types of generalized seizures, which were 39 cases (75%), with idiopathic etiology as many as 32 cases (62%), and more using monotherapy as many as 28 cases (54%).
