Abstract

Magnetic properties of Fe-34-67. 5 at % Pt alloys have been investigated. The properties of an Fe-38. 5 at % Pt alloy quenched from the disordered phase gamma (fcc) region and subsequently aged at 773 K (500 degree C) for 360 ks (100 h) in the ordered phase gamma //1 (fct, L1//0// minus type) region are B//r equals 1. 08 T (10. 8 kG), H//c equals 340 kA multiplied by (times) m** minus **1 (4. 3 kOe) and (BH)//m//a//x equals 159 kj multiplied by (times) m** minus **3 (20 MG multiplied by (times) Oe). The magnetic hardening is due to ordering from the gamma phase to the gamma //1 phase having a high crystal magnetic anisotropy.
