Abstract
The communicative actions reviewed using Jurgen Habermas' theory on public service innovation at the DPAD DIY Library Service Center aim to see the communicative actions carried out when building innovations that focus on aspects of communicative rationality and discourse ethics. This study uses a qualitative research method. This study found that the innovation built by the DPAD DIY Library Service Center requires communicative actions, where in this study the communicative actions are reviewed from communicative rationality and discourse ethics. In addition, the implementation of this innovation must be supported by strong actions, attitudes, and commitments. The communication facilities available at the DPAD DIY Library Service Center must also continue to be improved, both direct communication and through social media. Direct communication must also be a focus amidst the use of technology that continues to develop, because the emotional bond between users and librarians occurs when communication is carried out directly.
