Abstract
A review is given of the results and certain implications of an ongoing study of patients with the Wolff Parkinson White syndrome. The focus of this study was the development and evaluation of surgical techniques for the correction of the syndrome. A second and equally important objective was to develop and evaluate new and improved techniques for assessing cardiac excitation in these patients, and the potential benefit of either medical or surgical therapy.
