Abstract
More than seven years have passed since the dementia cafe began in earnest in Japan in 2012. More than 7,000 locations have been operated nationwide, and more than 1 in every 20,000 people, and their existence has been recognized by many people. The dementia cafe, which is made up of the power of many people in the area and has many people coming and going, has the potential to significantly change the way of thinking about dementia and become the cornerstone of comprehensive community care. This paper reviews the significance of the café, focusing on the notes of experiencing the cafe from the perspective of the parties involved.
