Abstract

This panel will provide insights into current funding initiatives that support Big Data projects, in the wake of the White House commitment to devote $200 million to Big Data research. Participants in Digging into Data, an international Big Data initiative, will describe their research. The panel will then trigger an audience-discussion on the tools, techniques, and theories that LIS can bring to Big Data research and the role that the LIS discipline should play in this new era.
