Abstract

Steroids are medications that have been used extensively in a variety of medical conditions due to their anti -inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties, Glucocorticoids have several side effects, with hyperglycemia being one of the most common. In this brief review, we discuss the steroid-induced hyperglycemia diagnoses, epidemiology, pathophysiology as well as the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics associated with steroid use Strategy for the treatment was also highlighted.
