Abstract

Studied the relationship of loneliness to various aspects of self-consciousness. Human subjects: 396 normal Japanese adolescents. Multiple-regression and discriminant analyses were performed. Tests used: The revised University of California at Los Angeles Loneliness Scale (D. Russell et al, 1980), Self-Esteem Scale (M. Rosenberg, 1979), Self-Consciousness Scale (A. Fenigstein et al, 1975), Self-Monitoring Scale (SMS) by M. Snyder (1974), and revised SMS (R. D. Lennox and R. N. Wolfe, 1984).
