Abstract

The authors would like to clarify the following with respect to the sample site identification in Harvey et al. (2017) on p.539 section 3.2 line 2: The original text states: “Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplifications were performed on DNA extracted from water samples collected at Sites C, E and F…” should read “Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplifications were performed on DNA extracted from water samples collected at Sites C, E and H…”. Additionally on p.540 section 3.4 line 5, “Analysis of this irrigation water at Sites G and H…” should read “Analysis of this irrigation water at Sites F and G…”. The authors note that the accidental mis-identification of the sites does not alter our original finding based on the available data that the primary sourcing of the pollutants at Site C relates to the slaughter facility.
