Abstract

Alessandro Rocco's book Gabriel García Márquez and the cinema. Life and works examines exhaustively and in a well-informed way the relationship between Gabo's literary work and the Cinema. The work is based on the writer's own afirmation that this relationship was as intense as unestable. Probably we can say that this constitutes the most complete book on Gabriel García Márquez and Cinema "marriadge", since it systemically analyzes this relationship, on the one hand, attending to the figure of Márquez as a screenwriter and, on the other, to the numerous cinematographic adaptations on this stories or novels. This review confirms the originality of this essay, as well as its potential to transform, without a doubt, into a reference book.
