Counterpoint: The argument for combination chemotherapy in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer

Abstract

The question of combination versus single-agent chemotherapy in the setting of metastatic breast cancer (MBC) is an often-debated issue. Many single agents have activity in this setting and the potential for significant synergism between chemotherapy agents has led to many combination chemotherapy trials.
