Abstract

TiAl-based alloys are a novel lightweight high-temperature structural material with high potential in aviation and aerospace fields. Additive manufacturing is an advanced rapid near-net shape forming technology, which is quite suitable for the manufacture of high-temperature structural parts of aerospace engines with complex structure and high precision requirements. Referring to the published literatures, the research progress on additive manufacturing technologies of TiAl-based alloys, including the principle, advantages and latest development of laser melting deposition, selective laser melting, selective electron beam melting and wire-arc additive manufacturing methods, as well as the research status of TiAl-based composite materials and correlative composite materials were reviewed. The obstacle of additive manufacturing technologies of TiAl-based alloys was analyzed. And some prospects were put forward, including composition design of TiAl-based alloys for additive manufacturing, process optimization and improvement of microstructure and mechanical properties, development of new TiAl-based materials, application of hybrid additive manufacturing.
