Abstract

High residential mobility characterises the lifestyle of Aboriginal people of the Esperance area over the last 13,000 years. Despite environmental conditions and a resource structure in the coastal zone that would have sustained a less mobile lifestyle, the archaeological record in both coast and interior refl ects a long-term commitment to moving on.
