Abstract

Ultrasound methods to read dose distributions from radiosensitive gels have been proposed as a low cost alternative to the conventional read-out with magnetic resonance imaging. This abstract reports early work towards the objective of a future read-out technique based on elastic properties, in particular our preliminary studies of Young's modulus of homogeneously irradiated cylindrical gel samples. © 2006 IOP Publishing Ltd.
