Abstract

The current study focused on the alterations of immune parameters and response of renal failure patients before hemodialysis. The study involved equal number of patients and control (n=23) from both gender and their hemodialysis treatment was done, every 72hrs to once a week. The patients serum biochemical markers revealed a significant elevation in comparison with healthy controls for BUN,SC, UA, Na+, K+, Cl-,PO3-3 and ALT. While there were a significant decreasedin serum albumin. The patients sera were revealed no significant differences in Ca+2 and ALP concentration P≤0.01.The humoral immune response was significantly affected in renal failure patients due to uremia, so their sera revealed significant difference via increasing in IgA concentration in comparison with IgA of healthy controls, while patients sera had a significant difference via decreasing the complement C3 concentration of renal patients in comparison with C3 of healthy controls. However, patient with low immune response were prune to infection by contagious diseases such as HBV and HCV. The patients had disorder in serum α2-globulinin which was at the upper normal and leads to nephrotic syndrome.Albumin-to-globulin ratio (A/G ratio) and serum total protein revealed non-significant decreasing in renal failure patients in comparison with healthy controlssera so A/G ratio represents the lower normal(0.935±0.058) while the healthy control revealed A/G ratio (1.115± 0.067). Conclusion: The patients were of CKD in which most of them had chronic inflammatory lesion (i.e., fever, pruritus andmyalgia symptoms).
