Abstract

The tremendous progress in the development of media spaces and their base technologies has led to new business opportunities in existing markets. By combining 2- and 3-D graphics, video, sound, speech, images, and networking, media spaces create large, shared, interactive, media-rich environments for a variety of applications including learning, entertainment, social interaction, and business. Integrating the use of a media space in everyday work-life is a challenging issue that requires attention to many social, technological, cost, and productivity issues.
