Abstract

The clinical and electrocardiographic features of cardiac arrhythmias which may present as emergencies are described. The treatment of choice in each case is indicated and a plan of subsequent management outlined. A brief description of the technique and indications for direct current shock in the treatment of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias is given.
