Abstract

Monopelopia tillandsia (Diptera: Chironomidae: Tanypodinae) is recorded for the first time in Cuba and the Neotropical region. Specimens of the larval stage were collected in three species of bromeliads and reared in the laboratory until the adult stage. M. tillandsia is distributed in central and western Cuba.
