Prevalencia de desalineación patelofemoral en pacientes con gonalgia en consulta de primera vez

Revista Mexicana de Medicina Familiar www.revmexmedicinafamiliar.org RESUMEN: Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia de desalineación patelofemoral (DPF) en pacientes con gonalgia en consulta de primera vez. Material y métodos: Se realizó una investigación clínica, ob-servacional, descriptiva, transversal, en el periodo de noviembre de 2020 a agosto de 2021. Resultados: La muestra fue de 100 pacientes con diagnóstico de gonartrosis, observando que el 72% corresponden al sexo femenino, el grupo etario más afectado fue de 46 a 55 años y el 43% presentaron sobrepeso. Con base en el cuestionario de Kujala, el 50% cursó con funcionalidad regular. Se determinó que la preva-lencia de DPF fue del 55%, de este 55% el sexo fe-menino es el más afectado (43%); el grupo etario de 46 a 50 años, y los pacientes con obesidad grado I. Conclusiones: Al realizar la radiografía con pro-yección de Merchant, se observa que una cantidad importante de pacientes con gonalgia presentan DPF, con esto se puede realizar un envío oportuno a segundo nivel. ABSTRACT: Objective: To determine the prevalence of patellofemoral misalignment in patients with knee pain in first-time consultation at Family Medicine Unit 73. Material and methods: A clinical, observational, descriptive, cross-sectional investigation was carried out in the period from November 2020 to August 2021. Results: The sample consisted of 100 patients with a diagnosis of knee osteoarthri-tis, observing that 72% were female, the most affected age group was 46 to 55 year-old, and 43% were overweight. Based on the Kujala questionnaire, 50% showed regular functionality. It was determined that the prevalence of patellofemoral misalignment was 55%, of this 55% the female sex is the most affected (43%), the most affected age group is between 46 and 50 years; in addition, patients with grade I obesity are the most affected. Conclusions: When performing the Merchant projection radiography, it is observed that a significant number of patients with gonalgia present patellofemoral misalignment, with this a timely second-level referral can be performed.
