Abstract
Correction to: Scientific Reportshttps://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-025-99474-y, published online 26 April 2025 The original version of this Article contained errors in the non-response rate in the sample size determination and the formula in the Methods and materials section, under the subheading ‘Sample size determination’. “This study is part of the effect of home visit health education on maternal and newborn outcomes among women with pre-eclampsia in south Gondar zone, North Central Ethiopia. The sample size calculation for this study was based on the maximum prevalence of pre-eclampsia, knowledge, attitude, along with its associated factors. Due to the absence of previous comprehensive community-based cross-sectional studies on knowledge and associated factors of pregnant women towards pre-eclampsia in the study area, a conservative estimate of 50% proportion was used to ensure the maximum possible sample size. Therefore, the sample size was determined using the formula for a single proportion; where; n = Sample size. p = Proportion. d = Margin of error. p value = 0.05. Hence, the final sample was 847 for knowledge of pregnant women towards pre-eclampsia. Therefore, the prevalence of knowledge towards pre-eclampsia and its associated factors by adding 10% non-response and by using design effect of 2 because with use of multi-staged cluster sampling, the final sample size 385* with design effect of (g) 2*0.1 = 847. g = Design effect = 2.” now reads: “This study is part of the effect of home visit health education on maternal and newborn outcomes among women with pre-eclampsia in south Gondar zone, North Central Ethiopia.
