Agricultural extension sceneries 2025: challenges and possibilities from the strategic foresight

Abstract

The agriculture must have the farmers as the fundamental members of the Agri-feed system. In doing this the work that has been done will have to be executed with the approval of the statute 1876 of 2017, of the agricultural department. The goal is to establish how to apply the strategies of the organizations that are in charge of the agricultural department in Colombia with vision to the year 2025. A method has been determined to be prioritized by the experts through two Delphi rounds, finally a scenario is defined through a round of matrix of crossed impact. They establish 4 scenarios to 2025 with the inclination of 94 %, probable scenario: Politics in a different path with 29 %; betting scenario: Everyone on the same path with 22.4 %; alternate scenario: Without politics and without a path with 21.3 %, and unwanted scenario: Politics arrived late with 21.3 %. The main individual, groups and mass methods that will generate the best impact in the future is the training and visits to the organizations and their producers, technical tours and/or days on the field, telephone applications and radio, the necessary factors rural pathways, business intelligence and the weak factor is politics without a follow up. Agricultural extension must intervene in technical, economic, political, social, rural infrastructure, and technology aspects to impact in the quality of small life producers.
