Abstract

Magnetic separators and tramp metal detectors used in aggregate and construction material recycling plants are among the most reliable types of plant equipment, but deriving top performance from such equipment require careful selection and placement. For instance, in-line magnet installations usually offer higher efficiency and slightly better recovery than cross-belt magnets. However, cross-belt units can be installed in tight spaces and can be located near handpicking stations. Some tips are presented to guide the purchase of magnetic separators.
