Sürdürülebilir Moda Kavramına Yönelik Tasarım Fikirleri

Abstract

Constant alteration of world order and demand to keep up, bring forward consumer societies that desire new and different in every circumstance. Furthermore, in fashion world, almost shorter than six months trends reveal. Designs are drifting away from its definition “problem solving action” by putting their backs on these trends, meanwhile they also reveal current problems. Along with this anti movement against short-term trends, the world is shifting to the concept of sustainability in design with a concern of slowing consumption, having environmental awareness, and leaving future generations habitable areas. Main theme of this paper is the concept of sustainable fashion and design ideas for this concept are evaluated under Material Focused Design, Patternmaking Focused Design and Modular Design by utilizing Fletcher (2008) and Sherin’s (2013) approaches. Paper’s objective is compile and discuss the design ideas of sustainable fashion, raise awareness and create a step to new developable ideas.
