Be part of the need to build alternatives of pedagogical approaches critical for human development that, in the exercise of a critical citizenship, recognize the word as the foundation of democracy, thus contributing to lower the intensity of direct violence., structural and cultural, present in the communities. Therefore, the main objective of the research was to reflectively explore, around human development in the perspective of critical pedagogy in the organizations of Ladera in the city of Cali, with the intention of contributing epistemic and ethical elements towards strengthening self-managed governance. The methodological approach was framed in the qualitative, and this allows to approach with the ethnographic to interpret and understand the organizational proposals in the economic, social and cultural context, which constituted its environment. Therefore the theoretical framework is built with the referents of critical social theory, emphasizing: Max Neef, Michel Foucault, Freire, Solano. The results shown show the need to return to build governance, from the exercise of critical citizenship, which would start from the experiences of the communities, returning to the practices of knowledge, based on an ethic, of the practice of the word, consistent with what is said and what is done, in order to build ways of living together with the difference.
